Patrick Barfield enlisted in the RAAF in 1978, earning the Queen’s Medal and graduating as Dux of 118 Pilots Course. He flew Mirages and F/A-18s, later serving as a Fighter Combat Instructor and CO at 2 OCU. Awarded the Conspicuous Service Cross in 1993, he has worked in defense contracting since 1998 and joined PAL Aerospace in 2021.
